Technical Assistance

BWJP primarily provides support to organizations and professionals engaged in the criminal and civil justice system. We do not take on individual cases or provide legal representation for individuals.

If you are seeking legal advice, we strongly encourage you to consult an attorney licensed in your state or jurisdiction. We can help you focus your questions about the criminal and civil legal system, and refer you to other local or national resources that address your particular legal situation.

Survivor Support Line

We have an advocate available to provide information, resources, and referrals for limited hours during the week. We cannot provide legal advice, or make a referral to specific attorneys.

Email us at technicalassistance@bwjp.org or use the form below. Please be aware that email is not a secure form of communication. If possible, we recommend calling our offices instead.

Self Represented Litigants Series

These resources were developed specifically for victims of domestic violence who are representing themselves in court and are in need of additional legal help. A lawyer who knows about domestic violence may be the best person to help, but parts of these guides can give you ideas on how to find one and provide guidelines and steps to help prepare your case and manage the court process.
