BWJP Congratulates Ms. Rosie Hidalgo on Confirmation as Director of the Office on Violence Against Women
St. Paul, Minnesota - July 11, 2023 - BWJP (Battered Women's Justice Project) is delighted to announce and celebrate the confirmation of Ms. Rosie Hidalgo as the Director of the Office on Violence Against Women at the Department of Justice.
President Biden officially nominated Ms. Hidalgo in May 2022. Ms. Hidalgo, an accomplished attorney, and political advisor, recently served as the Senior Advisor on Gender-Based Violence and Special Assistant to the President on the White House Gender Policy Council.
With over 25 years of experience as a national policy advocate and public servant, Ms. Hidalgo has dedicated her career to combating gender-based violence. She has successfully fostered broad-based coalitions across sectors, both nationally and globally. Furthermore, she has tirelessly worked to advance policy advocacy, develop innovative strategies, and implement effective programs. This expertise positions Ms. Hidalgo for great success in leading the Office on Violence Against Women.
