Batterer Intervention Programs and Victim Safety: Where Do We Go From Here?

Victim safety hinges on effective Batterer Intervention Programs (BIPs), yet studies have shown that there is high recidivism and dropout rates among BIP participants—raising questions about BIP effectiveness—and jeopardizing victim safety. Investment in BIPs—for research, to pilot programs, and to provide adequate financial support—has been neglected, to the detriment of the very persons they aim to protect. This webinar will review research findings that address issues and gaps in current knowledge—and that provide clues for enhancing BIP effectiveness.
