Law enforcement’s response to intimate partner violence and sexual assault within LGBTQ communities is often unsatisfactory. Many LGBTQ organizations encourage more effective practices or, in worst case scenarios, advise LGBTQ people to avoid contact with the criminal legal system because of a lack of trust and previous experience of abuse and poor outcomes.
However, some cities work hard to build trust through relationships, positive practice and policy. This webinar highlights how change was built from within the police, and how trusting relationships can create positive outcomes for LGBTQ communities.
