This child custody flow chart assists practitioners in determining which court has initial jurisdiction to determine child custody using the following the jurisdictional statutes: Uniform Child Custody Jurisdictional Act, Parental Kidnapping Prevention Act, 28 U.S.C. §1738A, Uniform Child Custody Jurisdictional Enforcement Act, and the Indian Child Welfare Act, 25 U.S.C §1901.
