Trauma-Informed Victim Interview (TIVI) for The Justice System, Part 2

Published by: Donna Kelly and Justin Boardman

Part two will build on what was learned in part one and will focus on how to use the information discovered in the trauma-informed victim interview. By acknowledging that these interviews are structured for the justice system and to effectively build a case, we will start by showing what information and evidence may be uncovered using this interview method, how to facilitate the interview, and how to recognize when and how follow-up questions should be asked. We will listen to interviews and point out the difference between inadequate questions and strong questions. We will discuss the new evidence that has been uncovered by this interview method and how to use it to build a strong case.
