NRCDVF seeks to fill a grant-funded, fully remote Attorney Advisor or Training and Technical Assistance Specialist position.
The Battered Women’s Justice Project (BWJP) is a collective of national policy and practice centers at the intersection of gender-based violence (GBV) and legal systems, including the National Center on Gun Violence in Relationships. Our mission is to promote change within the civil and criminal legal systems to enhance their effectiveness in providing safety, security, and justice for survivors of gender-based violence, their families, and communities.
About NRCDVF:
With U.S. Department of Justice Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) funding, BWJP operates the National Resource Center on Domestic Violence and Firearms, within our National Center on Gun Violence in Relationships, to promote policies and practices that effectively implement domestic violence (DV)-related restrictions on access to firearms. We serve courts, prosecutors, law enforcement, civil attorneys, victim advocates, and other community stakeholders who work to implement policies and practices that aim to reduce firearm-facilitated domestic violence. We operate a website that serves as a clearinghouse for information and tools, developed by the NRCDVF and others, on a range of topics related to the intersection of domestic violence and firearms and the legal frameworks that provide tools to reduce such violence. We provide customized trainings as well as technical assistance, helping to build communities’ knowledge about this dangerous intersection as well as their capacity to implement fair, consistent, and effective policies and practices that reduce firearm-facilitated domestic violence.
