Capitol Hill Briefing on the “Boyfriend Loophole”

LIVE recording – October 23, 2023

The “boyfriend loophole” is a critical gap in existing federal domestic violence law. It allows individuals subject to a domestic violence protection order to possess firearms unless the court finds they are in a “serious relationship.” In this briefing hosted by BWJP, Congresswoman Debbie Dingell and others will address the urgent need to clarify the statutory language, which poses a significant threat to the safety and well-being of countless individuals.

Hosted by BWJP in cooperation with Congresswoman Debbie Dingell (MI-06)
