This self-paced course provides a foundational overview of prevention of sexual and intimate partner violence, including:

  • understanding the importance of creating environments where violence is less likely to happen,
  • examples of prevention in the real world, and
  • key resources to expand prevention knowledge.

After completing this course, participants will be able to:

  • identify the difference between awareness and prevention,
  • connect risk and protective factors to the levels of the social ecological model, and
  • define comprehensive prevention.
